August comes to a close bringing many exciting changes at Bear River Alpacas. First of all we have the addition of the newest members of our herd. First, we have the stunning true black JR herdsire "Outlaw's Titan". He is gorgeous and his fleece is FINE FINE FINE! His first histogram came in at 17.9 and he has outstanding crimp. He is a son of Benchmark's Silvercoyo Outlaw (MSG) out of CCR Anya (TB). We have big plans for him next year. Thank you Shannon and John of Sunny Acres Alpacas for allowing us to add "Titan" to our ranch.

In addition to Titan we added his half sister "Outlaw's Platinum Lola" (MSG) also a daughter of Benchmark's Silvercoyo Outlaw out of Arosa Candy (TB) to our foundation herd. This girl will take your breath away. With her first histogram coming back at 14.9 it's obvious that Outlaw passes on his fineness. Like her brother she has a gorgeous head, great conformation and disposition. Thank you John and Shannon for letting go of this little girl!

Bear River is going grey this year. Another new addition is our pretty little girl "LV Galena by Sentinal" who is by Silver Rose Sentinal (DRG) out of Luciano's Maybelline (MSG). Galena is bred to LV Vantaggio Di Bisturi ((MSG) and due any day. We are on the edge of our seats waiting for this cria! Can you say grey girl??? Thank you Steve and Lynn Murray of Lassen View Alpacas for allowing us to purchase this little gem. She will be one of the cornerstones of our breeding program.

Our last (but not least) addition is the arrival of Suzi Stormalong's cria by MSA Tequila Sunrise. She delivered a big white crimpy boy weighing 15 pounds on August 2, 2012. He doubled his weight at 1 month weighing 30lbs. Good job mom! "Bear River's Tequila On Ice" known as "Ice" is the spitting image of his sire with a regal presence about him. Stayed tuned to watch him grow!

California (as well as many other states) has been plagued with heat and wildfires this year. To all who have endured and been displaced, my heart goes out to you and your families. Let's hope September brings cooler temperatures and an end to the fires.
